the face Mickey makes when he says the shooting star comment makes it look like if he wouldn’t say no if Ian really did ask. I don’t think he wants to do it but maybe its right then that he remembers that he and Ian don’t do any datetype things and hes the reason why. I think thats why he agrees to work with Ian so quickly too. Mickey from last season wouldnt have done it at all or would have at least come up with reasons why he doesnt want to do it but Mickey actually gave suggestions for what he could do. Yea he needs a job but that he rolled over so quickly means something or at least I think so. He still isnt ready to make the big emotional step of Kissing Ian but he does want to start moving towards it! So he didnt bring up not wanting to spend time with Ian or anything else that might make Ian take away the offer. I think that having Ian wanting to join the military is making him move quicker than he would like but every time it gets pushed in his face he steps more and more out of his comfort zone. He tells Ian to shot gun after the first time its brought up and he questions if Ian has the ‘leadership’ the second time. I think the pattern will continue as the season goes on until Mickey finally snaps.
